Skaði, Farmhouse Ale - 7,5% ABV

In Norse mythology, Skaði was a giant goddess and the daughter of Þjasi. She sought revenge for her fathers‘ death at the hands of the gods, and as compensation was awarded a husband, Njörður. Skaði lived high in the snowy mountains of Þrymheimur, where she traveled on skis and hunted wild animals with her bow and arrow. Our brewmaster doesn‘t need to hunt down this beer, but she does forage for angelica seeds which are used to spice the beer.

Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat, rye, hops, yeast and Icelandic angelica seeds.

Taste and aroma: Skaði‘s flavor changes as the beer ages, but it maintains an underlying smoothness with a hint of cloves and pepper that come from the yeast. Fermentation occurs at a relatively low temperature, resulting in a dry beer with flavors of malt and citrus. Skaði has a spicy aroma with characteristics of wine

Móri, Red Ale - 5,5% ABV

A tribute to a lost soul. In the winter of 1784, during the Skaftár Fires volcanic eruption in south Iceland, a young boy was forced to flee his home. He came upon a farm and begged the farmer for shelter from the cold. The farmer turned the boy away, and later that night the boy drowned in a nearby pond. The boy‘s ghost remained on the farm, haunting the farmer and his family for generations. The name of the boy is not known, but his ghost was called Kambholts-Móri

Ingredients: Water, malted barley, wheat, hops and yeast

Authors Stephen Beaumont and Tim Webb claim it’s “The finest achievement of modern Icelandic brewing is this amazing, top-class smoke imperial stout, which hit the beer world, as it will your palate, like a volcanic eruption.” We couldn’t agree more!
